HOW TO CARE
Cashmere

CASHMERE
- Cashmere is a soft, lightweight fiber from cashmere goats, prized for its warmth and luxury feel.
- Check the care instructions to hand wash, machine wash or dry clean.
- Only wash cashmere a few times per season.
- Hand-wash or use a special detergent on a gentle machine cycle according to care instructions to prevent pilling.
- Squeeze excess water without twisting and lay flat on a towel to dry. Reshape while damp. Between wears, ventilate to save energy.
- Store knitwear folded in drawers with mothballs; hanging can alter the shape. Use a pilling comb to retain the fabric’s softness.
- Help reverse signs of shrinking from older cashmere garments by soaking them in cold or lukewarm water and pulling symmetrically while they dry naturally on a flat surface.
PILLING CARE FOR KNITTED WEAR
- Pilling is a natural occurrence in soft, natural fibers like wool, mohair, and cashmere. It happens when the fluffy surface hairs rub against friction, forming small bobbles. High-quality yarn with long-staple fibers will pill less over time, as the initial surface fuzz stabilizes after a few wears.
- To maintain your knitwear’s smooth look, gently remove surface bobbles using a de-pilling comb or a de-bobbling machine. Always glide the tool lightly over the fabric to avoid damage. With occasional care, your garments will stay soft and beautiful without excessive pilling.

- Use a mild detergent and avoid bleach, which can weaken the fabric over time.
- Lay flat or hang to air dry, heat from tumble drying may damage the shape or fabric.
